SUMMARY:Chinese Medicine and Treating Trauma
DESCRIPTION:June 6-7\, 2026\n9:00am – 5:30pm\n14 NCBAHM PDAs\nTaught by Jen Resnick\, DAHM\, L.Ac. \nChinese medicine excels at treating traumatic injury. In early stages of injury simple interventions can quickly support patients to full recovery. In chronic pain due to traumatic injury\, by gaining understanding of the three stages of healing and when and how to best intervene\, practitioners can bring relief to patients even well after the time of injury. \nThis class will support practitioners to view traumatic injuries through the diagnostic lens of Chinese medicine. In a case-based discussion\, we will explore the multi-dimensional treatments that Chinese medicine provides through informed palpation\, targeted tui na and acupuncture\, utilization of external application of herbs and re-education of tissues through simple qi gong therapies. \nThis hands-on weekend seminar covers evaluation and treatment strategies for soft tissue and bony injuries\, trauma and shock\, lacerations\, insect bites\, and other common injuries. \nParticipants will gain proficiency in a Chinese Medicine “home first aid” kit utilizing the most common external formulas for injury and will learn how to make their own Die Da Jiu liniment and San Huang San Gao to take home. \nJen has been an instructor of the Zheng Gu Tui Na method of Chinese medical massage for over 20 years. She has taught Tui Na\, Traumatology and Qi Gong in the US\, Canada and Europe and as faculty at Jung Tao School and Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. \nCost (includes supplies for herbal remedies to take home): \n\n$450 regular registration\n$400 JTS alumni & faculty\n$375 JTS student registration
